Role Description
The AV Project Manager will be the primary point of contact in LA for the planning, delivery, and integration of Audio-Visual (AV) services for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Working under the guidance of the AV & DIVA Manager and in collaboration with the wider Technology team, the AV Project Manager will oversee the project lifecycle for AV across multiple venues and stakeholders. This role requires solid technical knowledge, the ability to work independently, and confidence in explaining AV concepts clearly to a wide range of stakeholders in a dynamic project environment.
Responsibilities
- Act as the local point of contact for AV project delivery across all Games phases in Los Angeles.
- Support the AV feasibility study process by managing inputs from client stakeholders, Service Providers, and venue teams, and oversee changes to technical requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate the implementation, installation, and configuration of AV systems (videoboards, scoreboards, PA/background music, sport-specific announcement systems).
- Support procurement processes for AV equipment and services, providing input on technical specifications and vendor integration.
- Review and validate AV designs, technical documentation, test plans, and operational procedures.
- Monitor and facilitate testing and acceptance activities across multiple venues.
- Track project progress, and risks, reporting updates to the AV & DIVA Manager and Technology Programme Director.
- Maintain strong relationships with AV Service Providers and act as a conduit between Functional Areas such as Sports Presentation, Broadcast, Energy, Results, Press Operations, Venue Management, and Venue Overlay, as well as cross-functional Technology teams.
- Prepare clear documentation, reports, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide support during event phases, including troubleshooting and operational readiness.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in the AV industry from a delivery or integration standpoint. Major events experience is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project); experience with Smartsheet is a plus.
- Working knowledge of CAD tools and Adobe for AV planning.
- Strong understanding of AV technologies and trends, including sound, projection, lighting, cabling/network, and video distribution.
- Experience managing suppliers, service providers, and contractors.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, able to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Ability to explain technical AV concepts simply to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative and solutions-oriented.
- Comfortable working under pressure and thinking strategically in a fast-paced, complex environment.
- Strong expertise in Project Management, including planning, execution, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000, depending on the level of experience.
