MajorDuties

  • Assisting department clients and leadership with developing, implementing, and complying with policies and procedures to ensure effective management of the FOIA compliance and litigation programs.
  • Manage civil FOIA and Privacy Act litigation.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and paralegals to develop strategic approaches to FOIA litigation across the office.
  • Work closely with Department of Justice (DOJ) to draft and review filings for federal court FOIA litigation, assist in negotiations with plaintiffs, review and produce documents to meet court-ordered or negotiated deadlines.
  • At the GS-13 level, the incumbent performs the same duties as outlined above; however, the scope and complexity of assignments are increased, and the incumbent receives less supervision than the GS-12.
