INTRODUCTION and WHAT YOU WILL DO (Job Responsibilities)

The Associate Product Manager supports the product team in executing category strategy and day-to-day product tasks that serve our automotive technician customers and franchisee partners. You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Marketing, Sales, Engineering and Operations to help evaluate product opportunities, deliver product launches, manage product life cycles, and monitor category performance. This role is based in our Stow, OH office with a hybrid schedule.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support development and execution of category plans by gathering data, preparing materials and contributing inputs to long-range roadmaps.
  • Assist in creating product specifications and documentation for new and existing items (inventory needs, basic pricing inputs, anticipated unit volumes, and launch timelines) under PM guidance.
  • Help coordinate go-to-market activities: liaise with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain and Operations to prepare launch checklists, collateral, and training materials.
  • Help maintain product data and systems (SKU setup, attributes, pricing updates, and compliance documents) to ensure accuracy across channels.
  • Plan and help coordinate product promotions across multiple promotional channels to both automotive technician customers and franchisee partners.
  • Monitor product and promotional performance by collecting sales, margin and inventory data; prepare regular reports and basic analyses to surface trends and issues.
  • Conduct market and competitive research: gather competitor info, summarize market trends, and produce concise briefs for the team.
  • Support product lifecycle tasks, including product changes, discontinuations, and “test & learn” pilots; coordinate testing logistics and capture results.
  • Coordinate cross-functional meetings, track action items, and follow up to keep projects on schedule.
  • Provide frontline product information and simple training support to Sales and franchisees; create and update quick reference guides and FAQs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to help the product team meet category KPIs (growth, revenue, margin, and operational targets).

WHO YOU ARE (Qualifications)

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • 1–3 years in product, marketing, category management, merchandising, or a related role; automotive aftermarket or B2B2C exposure is a plus.
  • Proven ability to support product planning and lifecycle activities (specs, launches, basic pricing inputs).
  • Strong analytical skills with comfort in Excel/Google Sheets and preparing concise reports to surface trends and KPIs.
  • Clear written and verbal communicator; comfortable presenting to small groups and creating user-facing materials.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks, track follow-ups, and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with a customer-first mindset and eagerness to learn and grow in product management.
  • Basic project coordination/process skills and experience working cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or Supply Chain.
  • Preferred: familiarity with SKU setup, ERP/PLM/PIM systems, inventory concepts, or supporting commercial/pricing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years in product, marketing, category management, merchandising, or a related role; automotive aftermarket or B2B2C exposure is a plus.
