THIS POSITION WILL GO HYBRID (2 days at home/3 days in Pine Brook) AFTER 90 DAYS IN OFFICE FOR TRAINING


The Associate Portfolio Marketing Manager is responsible for the performance of their assigned product portfolio. This role combines strategic and tactical responsibilities, ensuring products meet customer needs, comply with quality standards, and deliver profitable growth. Works closely with the Senior Portfolio Marketing Manager and cross-functional teams to align portfolio strategy with Avantik’s commercial objectives.


Essential functions


Product Lifecycle Management

  • Own the lifecycle for assigned products: onboarding, certification/validation, commercial readiness, growth/maintenance, and phase‑out (EOL).
  • Maintain roadmaps and release calendars for assigned portfolio; align changes with marketing campaigns and sales priorities.


Customer Insight & Voice of Customer (VoC)

  • Systematically gather user needs via field feedback, sales input, customer service data, technical service insights, and surveys for assigned products. Translate needs into requirements for vendors and into clear value propositions for customers.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Quality and other cross functional departments to ensure customer feedback informs decisions and continuous improvement.


Product Marketing & Go‑to‑Market

  • Define positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation for assigned product lines.
  • Build and execute go‑to‑market plans for launches, updates, and promotions, ensuring plans are designed to drive revenue growth and portfolio adoption.
  • Create sales tools and support lead‑generation efforts.


Pricing & Profitability

  • Conduct pricing research and benchmarking.
  • Prepare price-change recommendations for review by senior managers.
  • Track promo ROI, discounts, and pricing guardrails.
  • Participate in margin improvement analysis with Finance or Supply Chain.
  • Assist with packaging or bundling proposals.


Revenue Accountability

  • Monitor revenue vs. forecast and report variances.
  • Participate in strategic planning for upsell/cross‑sell initiatives.
  • Work with Supply Chain on actions that support margin targets.
  • Coordinate with Commercial Team for forecasting, pipeline visibility, and sales feedback loops. Align with Supply Chain on forecast and inventory targets, substitutions, and EOL plans to minimize excess/obsolescence.


Digital & eCommerce Readiness

  • Ensure accurate product content in the CMS/eShop (descriptions, images, specs, regulatory notes, cross‑sells, related accessories).


Competencies

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Commercial mindset: Understands pricing levers, margin, and promotional economics.

Revenue ownership mindset: Demonstrates accountability for hitting portfolio revenue and profitability goals.


Travel required

Position requires approximately 15-20% annual travel to customer, vendor, manufacturer meetings, as needed. Regional, national tradeshows / events, etc.


Other requirements

3-5 days per week in NJ office


Other duties

Assume special projects as assigned

Maintain familiarity with market trends and product/category innovation

Assist with set up and tear down of internal and external company events
