The Impact you will have in this role:


The Containers team is looking for a Kubernetes/OpenShift engineer who designs, implements, and maintains applications using the Kubernetes platform, which plays an important role in DevOps

The Systems Engineering family is responsible for the entire technical effort to evolve and verify solutions that satisfy client needs. The primary focus is centered on reducing risk and improving the efficiency, performance, stability, security, and quality of all systems and platforms. The Platform Hosting & Engineering role specializes in the development, implementation, and support of all distributed, mainframe, and network hosting services across the firm. Responsible for the installation, configuration, programming, and support of operating systems, complex networks, and distributed environments, deploying solutions to increase overall system reliability across the firm.

 

Your Primary Responsibilities:
 

  • Create the OpenShift container infrastructure platform for the company 
  • Coordinate with other infrastructure teams to meet goals 
  • Enhance delivery systems with Continuous Integration through GitOps processes 
  • Improve the monitoring and alert system 
  • Troubleshoot issues and solve problems where needed 
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes concepts, like pods, services, deployments, and stateful sets. 
  • Ability to set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for Kubernetes clusters. 
  • Understanding of Kubernetes security best practices, like RBAC, network, and pod security policies. 
  • Strong programming skills in one or more languages (e.g. Go, Python, Java) 
  • Strong problem-solving skills to find and fix complex issues in Kubernetes environments. 
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with development and operations teams. 
  • Continuous learning mindset to keep up with the quickly changing Kubernetes ecosystem. 
  • Attention to detail when setting up and managing Kubernetes resources. 
  • Proactive approach to spotting and fixing potential issues before they affect production systems. 
  • Collaborate with development teams to containerize applications and deploy them on Kubernetes 
  • Optimize Kubernetes cluster performance, resource utilization, and cost-effectiveness 
  • Automate Kubernetes deployment and management processes using infrastructure as code tools 
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools, such as Helm, Kustomize, or Terraform. 
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools (Ansible, ArgoCD) 
  • Experience in deploying applications such as Springboot and python to Kubernetes namespaces by developing Dockerfiles and Helm Charts/Kustomize. 
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certifications 
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments 
  • Teaching mentality 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
