We are looking for an experienced LPN to work for one of our external clients to work for their Assisted Living facility located in Staten Island, NY.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 11:30am - 8:00pm.
In this role you will be responsible for responsible for providing medical treatment, first aid, emergency care and medications, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Required License/certification:
- License and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York
- Valid New York State Driver’s License and maintain it in good standing
- CPR
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Provides health care to individuals receiving services as instructed by registered nurse.
- Provides direct hygiene and health instruction to individuals receiving services and families as required.
- Provides first aid to persons in need of immediate care, with referral to registered nurse or outside emergency services as necessary.
- Interacts with a interdisciplinary team and is responsible for assisting Registered Nurse in coordinating following through on provisions of health care services for assigned residences.
- Keeps progress notes under supervision of registered nurse for each client and summarizes for quarterly, semi-annual and annual reviews.
- Assists physicians in medical examinations as needed.
- Schedules appointments and follows up on physicians’ recommendations.
- Keeps up to date and accurate records of examinations, immunizations, illnesses, accidents and other pertinent data via progress notes.
- Administers medications when appropriate. Supervises storage of medications and assists in oversight and ordering of medications.
