Position Summary

The Purchasing Assistant Manager is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of high-quality goods and services at competitive prices. This role also oversees customs clearance processes for international shipments, ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations and accurate documentation. The ideal candidate plays a key role in supporting efficient global supply chain operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to ensure quality and value.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, pricing, and demand forecasts to support informed purchasing decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (e.g., finance, operations, logistics) to align procurement with business needs and ensure timely delivery.
  • Inventory Management: Track inventory levels and coordinate purchasing to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Cost Control & Reporting: Analyze purchasing data, track KPIs, and identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Customs & Compliance: Manage customs clearance activities, ensuring all import/export documentation and regulatory requirements are met.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management within semiconductor, electrical engineering, or similar warehouse and production environments
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in battery, automotive, or electronics manufacturing
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
  • Ability to work in a bilingual environment (Korean/English)


Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with occasional visits to shipping or manufacturing facilities
  • Minimal travel required for supplier meetings or inspections
