Residential Assistant Property Manager

Location: Cheektowaga, NY

Reports To: Property Manager

Salary: $24.00 per hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Residential Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of our residential community. This role assists the Property Manager in leasing, resident relations, financial administration, and property operations to ensure a high-quality living experience for residents.

Key Responsibilities

Leasing & Marketing

  • Assist with leasing activities, including conducting property tours and responding to inquiries
  • Process rental applications, verify applicant information, and prepare lease agreements
  • Support marketing initiatives to maintain high occupancy rates
  • Monitor market trends and competitive properties

Resident Relations

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for residents
  • Address and resolve resident concerns promptly and professionally
  • Coordinate resident events and community engagement activities
  • Enforce lease terms and community policies

Financial Administration

  • Assist with rent collection and follow up on delinquent accounts
  • Process invoices and maintain accurate financial records
  • Support budget tracking and reporting
  • Prepare required documentation and reports

Operations & Maintenance

  • Coordinate maintenance requests and follow up on completion
  • Conduct routine property inspections
  • Assist with vendor coordination and service contracts
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal housing regulations

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of residential property management or leasing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency in property management software (MRI & Nexus)
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk the property frequently

Work Schedule

  • Monday–Friday business hours (8:30a-5:30p)
  • Some evenings, weekends, and on-call availability for emergencies
