Title: Project Coordinator-Product Development
Location: Plano, TX
Duration: 3-6 month contract
Compensation: $30-33/hr
Must haves:
- 5-7+ years of experience supporting high-performing, cross-functional teams as a project coordinator
- Experience in food innovation/ product development, test kitchen or culinary environments
- Expdrience in Scrum environments and process improvement
- Experience building and managing project tracking tools and templates
- High proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with project management platforms (e.g., Monday.com, Smartsheet, Asana, Jira, MS Project)
Plusses:
Experience in QSR test kitchen environments
Day to day:
An employer is looking for a Food Innovation Project Coordinator in the Plano, TX area. You will be taskeed with owning the tools, workflows, and coordination mechanisms that enable disciplined innovation, clear governance, and accelerated commercialization for this food innovation team. You will operate with independence, initiative, and process ownership — proactively identifying gaps, anticipating risks, and driving projects forward without waiting to be directed.
Project & Portfolio Process Ownership
- Develop, maintain, and continuously optimize project management tools supporting product development and commercialization
- Own and manage centralized trackers (project status, decision logs, milestones, global calendar, etc.)
- Build “ready-to-use” templates that require minimal revision and drive adoption across teams
- Ensure documentation and workflows are sustainable, clearly owned, and aligned with stakeholder needs
- Identify process inefficiencies and propose structured improvements
Governance & Decision Forum Support
- Actively guide project teams toward appropriate decision-making forums (e.g., FLT, Kitchen Time, milestone gates)
- Ensure required documentation and materials are complete prior to governance reviews
- Support movement of projects from gate to gate by tracking readiness and surfacing gaps early
- Maintain visibility to portfolio timing, prioritization, and cross-project dependencies
- Escalate risks within 24 hours of identification and propose mitigation solutions
- Manage recurring team forums with structured discipline (agenda, objectives, facilitation support, documentation, follow-up)
Product Development & Commercialization Support
- Support non-technical aspects of food development and commercialization projects
- Prepare summaries, milestone documentation, and status updates
- Ensure completeness of required documentation prior to submissions
- Develop working knowledge of the end-to-end product development lifecycle
- Proactively engage project leads to identify where support is needed
Compensation:
$30/hr to $33/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
