The Assistant Project Manager / Estimator supports a Project Manager / Estimator in all phases
of concrete and masonry projects—from preconstruction and bidding through completion and
closeout. This position is designed for a motivated individual who is eager to learn the technical,
financial, and management skills necessary to advance into a full Project Manager / Estimator
role.
Responsibilities
• Assist with takeoffs and quantity measurements for concrete and masonry scope items.
• Help prepare estimates and bids, incorporating labor, material, and subcontractor pricing.
• Participate in project setup and preconstruction coordination within company software
systems.
• Assist in preparing and submitting project submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Support project scheduling, cost tracking, and cash flow management.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, superintendents, and foremen to track progress
and resolve issues.
• Help maintain accurate project documentation and production tracking.
• Monitor and report on field labor productivity under direction from the Project Manager.
• Support project safety initiatives and documentation compliance.
• Assist with project closeout documentation and final financial reconciliation.
• Build relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams while representing
professionalism and values.
Requirements and Qualifications
• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with estimating or project
management software a plus.
• Basic understanding of commercial construction principles and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• 2–4 year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Previous internship or field experience in construction, estimating, or project coordination is
beneficial but not required.
• Eager to learn, self-motivated, and capable of working in a fast-paced team environment.
