⚡ Scheduled Outage Coordinator Support (Contract)

We are seeking a Scheduled Outage Coordinator Support (Contractor) to join the Grid Management Scheduled Outage team, supporting the safe and reliable operation of Consumers Energy’s High Voltage Distribution (HVD), Low Voltage Distribution (LVD), and Metropolitan Electric Systems.
This role focuses on outage coordination for maintenance and construction activities and provides operational support during storm restoration and emergency response events.
🔧 What You’ll Do
• Support scheduled outage coordination for electric maintenance and construction activities
• Collaborate with Grid Management, control room teams, and field operations
• Assist with execution of reliability project workplans
• Provide support in electric control and dispatch centers during storm restoration efforts
✅ Required Qualifications
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests and shifting priorities
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Basic understanding of Power BI or similar reporting/analytics tools
⭐ Preferred Experience
• 1–2 years of experience in electric utility operations, outage coordination, dispatch support, or work planning
• Prior experience in a Gas & Electric Utility control room or similar operational environment
• Familiarity with switching and tagging procedures
• Understanding of planned outage processes in an electric utility environment
• Experience with operational systems such as OMS/ADMS, iTOA, or SAP
• Familiarity with utility assets (feeders, substations, switches, circuits)
• Experience supporting storm operations or emergency response
🎓 Education
• Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent related experience required
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (any discipline) considered
