The Betty Gold College of Arts and Sciences at Mary Baldwin University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Mathematics beginning in August 2026. The successful candidate will teach introductory Physics, both theoretical and calculus-based, along with undergraduate mathematics courses. The School is seeking an individual with a strong commitment to inclusive pedagogies in science as well as enthusiasm for the environment of a small student-centered university. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Mathematics, Physics or related field or extensive applicable experience and must be able to teach lab-based courses. The candidate must be willing and able to teach introductory physics, college algebra, and first and second semester calculus. An ability to teach higher level mathematics courses would be preferred. Candidates are also encouraged to highlight any experience in teaching or developing courses with a data analysis or data modelling component. The candidate will also be expected to mentor senior research projects for Mathematics and Applied Math majors. Experience teaching introductory mathematics and/or physics courses at the undergraduate level is highly desirable. The individual in this position will be expected to develop suitable laboratory course materials in collaboration with current faculty along with laboratory setup.
