About The Job

Our client is a leading commercial baking company which is experiencing rapid, organic growth. In partnership with our client, we are looking for an Assistant Production Managers to support the operation as they expand into multiple sites. Multiple positions are available on either 1st or 2nd shift.


Position

As an Assistant Production Manager, you will play a key role in supporting daily operations within a 24/7 bakery facility. Partnering closely with the Production Manager, you will ensure the production runs safely, efficiently, and consistently across all shifts. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone eager to develop their career in food manufacturing while actively supporting teams on the floor.


What You’ll Do

  • Support end-to-end bakery production, including mixing, forming, baking, cooling, and packaging.
  • Coach and assist supervisors and hourly team members to drive performance and engagement.
  • Uphold food safety, quality, and sanitation standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF).
  • Assist with production scheduling, staffing, and achieving daily output goals.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to resolve downtime and production issues.
  • Track key metrics and contribute to continuous improvement in efficiency, yield, and waste reduction.
  • Provide leadership support across multiple shifts as needed.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.


Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in food production, commercial baking, or manufacturing leadership.
  • Experience in an SQF-certified environment.
  • Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety practices.
  • Proven ability to support and lead hourly production teams.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in frozen or high-volume production environments is preferred.
