The Clark County Manager's Office is seeking qualified applicants for the Assistant Manager position within Community Housing.As a member of our team, you will be responsible for the oversight of affordable housing grant, loan and incentive programs funded by federal, state, and local sources. The ideal candidate will have extensive federal grant program administration experience, exposure to affordable housing development and financing, past supervisory experience, strong collaboration skills, and robust program management abilities.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration or a related field AND four (4) years of full-time administrative or management support experience, two (2) years of which include supervisory and/or lead experience in the specific programmatic area, preferably in a public office setting. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to two (2) years.

- Plans, organizes, administers, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of professional, technical and office support staff through subordinate supervisors.
- Oversees or provides for the selection, training, professional development, and discipline of staff either directly or through subordinate supervision.
- Coordinates and assists in the development of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for the department or division.
- Plans, oversees, and reviews and evaluates the work of major programmatic areas; directs and coordinates the work to ensure program goals and objectives are achieved.
- Evaluates various department programs with focus on service delivery systems, quality of services, program evaluation, business systems improvement, customer service system improvement, and research and analysis.
- Prepares or reviews a variety of narrative and/or statistical reports, correspondence, policy papers, presentations, and other written materials.
- Participates in long- and short-term departmental planning and policy formation.
- Contributes to the overall quality of the department's service provision by developing and coordinating work teams and by reviewing, recommending, and implementing improved policies and procedures.
- Directs the maintenance of accurate records and files and prepares a variety of periodic and special reports and correspondence.
- Drives a personal or county motor vehicle in order to attend meetings and visit work sites or arrange for appropriate transportation to and from various sites.
Mobility to work in a typical office setting, use standard office equipment, to drive a motor vehicle or be capable of commuting to various off-site locations in order to attend meetings or make on-site visits; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
