The organization oversees a portfolio of industrial manufacturing and real estate businesses serving multiple end markets worldwide.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President and General Counsel, the Assistant General Counsel will play a critical role in addressing the Company’s legal needs. Key responsibilities include advising on business relationships, supporting day-to-day operations, and contributing to long-term strategic initiatives. This position requires close collaboration with in-house counsel, a Contract Specialist, the Manager of Technical Services, and support staff, with a primary focus on real estate, commercial contracts, and corporate structuring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise operating entities on business operations and compliance with federal, state, and local laws
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements (service, supply, development, purchase, real estate)
- Support U.S. and international matters, including joint ventures and acquisitions
- Oversee corporate structuring, governance, partnerships, and trusts
- Manage intellectual property strategy (trademarks, trade secrets)
- Coordinate outside counsel and oversee litigation and risk management
- Monitor regulatory developments and maintain effective compliance policies
- Build strong partnerships across internal teams and external stakeholders
Ideal Background:
- Licensed attorney with 5+ years of in-house experience or relevant experience in a small-to-mid-size law firm
- Strong transactional, due diligence, and commercial real estate experience
- Demonstrated risk assessment, negotiation, and drafting skills
- Experience supporting business leaders in a decentralized environment
- International and M&A experience is a plus
This role will be onsite and in office 5 days a week.
