About the Family & Social Services Administration (FSSA):
The Division of Mental Health and Addiction within the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) sets care standards for the provision of mental health and addiction services to Hoosiers. DMHA is committed to ensuring that clients have access to quality services that promote individual, family and community resiliency and recovery.
The division also certifies all community mental health centers and addiction treatment services providers. DMHA operates six psychiatric hospitals (NeuroDiagnostic Institute, Evansville Psychiatric Children’s Center, Evansville State Hospital, Logansport State Hospital, Madison State Hospital and Richmond State Hospital). DMHA provides funding support for mental health and addiction services to target populations with financial need and administers federal funds earmarked for substance abuse prevention projects.
Role Overview:
The Assistant Director of Quality Improvement is responsible for providing strategic oversight and operational leadership for provider audit activities within the quality improvement team. In this role, you will manage a team of quality reviewers who conduct comprehensive audits to ensure program integrity, compliance with policies, and adherence to regulatory requirements. You will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of audit-related policies, procedures, and methodologies to support high‑quality, consistent, and fair audit practices.
The ideal candidate brings strong critical‑thinking skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex or challenging situations with professionalism and clarity. They must be highly organized, capable of analyzing and refining processes, and committed to cultivating a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the quality review team.
This role works collaboratively with internal colleagues and external partners, building and maintaining effective relationships that support transparent communication, effective problem‑solving, and shared goals related to audit outcomes and program integrity.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $75,010.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
