Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

Join a manufacturing team that builds high-quality treadmills on a fast-paced assembly line. This role involves mechanical assembly using hand tools, interpreting blueprints, and contributing to the production of durable fitness equipment. You will work on your feet for extended periods while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and safety in every step of the assembly process.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble treadmill components on a production line according to blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Use hand tools and basic mechanical techniques to fit, fasten, and secure parts and subassemblies.
  • Prepare parts for paint and finishing, including cleaning, masking, and organizing components.
  • Perform tube bending tasks when needed to support the fabrication of metal components.
  • Inspect parts and assemblies for defects, alignment, and proper fit, and report any issues promptly.
  • Follow standardized production processes to maintain consistent output and meet daily production goals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility safety guidelines.
  • Stand, walk, and move along the line for up to 10-hour shifts while handling repetitive assembly tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production issues and improve workflow.
  • Handle materials, components, and finished products carefully to prevent damage and ensure product quality.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2+ years of experience working on a manufacturing assembly line.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools for assembly and basic mechanical work.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow detailed assembly instructions.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Ability to stand on your feet and perform repetitive tasks for 10-hour shifts.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and adhere to production standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Tube bending experience is a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial production.
  • Experience with paint preparation processes is beneficial.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability in attendance and performance.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility in Newton, KS. You will work on a production floor around assembly lines, mechanical components, and industrial equipment. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with established procedures and guidelines for working around machinery and production processes. Typical attire is practical work clothing suitable for a manufacturing setting, along with any required personal protective equipment provided in accordance with facility policies.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NEWTON, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $13.00 - $14.00/hr.
