Join a long-established manufacturer of high-quality medical and spa tables and beds, where you will assemble products from start to finish for use in healthcare, wellness, and beauty settings. As a Utility Assembler, you work on a variety of tasks including mechanical assembly, sewing, upholstery, spray finishing, and shipping, while being cross-trained across multiple areas of the facility. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in precision, and wants to grow their skills in a clean, modern production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly of tables and beds, including attaching legs, structural components, and mechanical parts that allow products to sit up, move, and adjust.
  • Interpret and follow detailed schematics, drawings, and blueprints to assemble products accurately according to specifications.
  • Use hand tools and power tools, including air tools, to complete assembly tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Measure and align components using tape measures and basic mathematics to ensure precise fit and finish.
  • Assist with sewing and upholstery tasks related to table and bed coverings, padding, and finishes as needed.
  • Support spray booth operations by preparing components and products for finishing and coating, following safety and quality guidelines.
  • Participate in shipping activities, including preparing finished products for packaging, labeling, and loading for delivery.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to assembly instructions.
  • Rotate through different workstations and participate in cross-training to learn multiple positions within the facility.
  • Follow all safety procedures, keep work areas clean and organized, and help maintain a safe, efficient production environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to meet production goals and timelines.
  • Work scheduled shifts of four 10-hour days per week and reliably adhere to assigned hours.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools; experience with air tools is a plus.
  • Ability to use a tape measure accurately and apply basic mathematics for measurements and layout.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific assembly instructions.
  • Experience as an assembler for 1 or more years, ideally with exposure to detailed schematics or drawings.
  • Comfort working with wood, structural components, and mechanical parts.
  • Ability to work full 10-hour shifts on a consistent Monday–Thursday schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Blueprint reading experience in a production or carpentry setting.
  • Experience in carpentry, wood framing, or finish carpentry.
  • Experience with sewing, upholstery, or related fabric work.
  • Familiarity with spray booth or finishing processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to learn multiple positions and participate actively in cross-training.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.

Why Work Here?

You will join a stable, family-run organization with over four decades of history and a modern 91,000-square-foot facility dedicated to producing world-class medical and spa equipment. The company emphasizes an employee-centered culture, offering a supportive team environment, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan. You benefit from structured cross-training and clear advancement opportunities, including pay increases as you master additional positions. The organization actively promotes health awareness through internal activities and hosts multiple fun events to show appreciation for employees, creating a workplace where people feel valued and engaged.

Work Environment

You will work in a modern, 91,000-square-foot production facility that is clean and organized, especially considering the use of wood in manufacturing. Woodworking and machining activities are contained in a specific enclosed area to minimize dust throughout the rest of the shop. The assembly and shipping areas are not excessively loud, providing a comfortable environment for focused work. The role uses a variety of hand tools, power tools, and air tools, along with measuring devices and production equipment for assembly, sewing, upholstery, spray finishing, and shipping tasks. Schedules follow four 10-hour shifts from Monday through Thursday, with first shift running approximately 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (with the option to start as early as 4:30 a.m.) and second shift running approximately 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with initial training on first shift before moving to second. The environment supports cross-training, collaboration, and skill development across multiple departments.
