CLOUD COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEE JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Instructor in Art, Division of Humanities and Social Sciences Reports To: Division Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences Type of Contract: Professional Employee (Faculty) Length of Contract: 9 month, academic year Date of Position Description: April 2025 Date Position Description Approved by President: The Administration may change the duties at any time. GENERAL NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION The Instructor in Art will be responsible for teaching courses within the Art Department. These may include art appreciation, applied art classes, and graphic design classes. A bachelor's degree is required with a master's degree preferred. Additionally it is preferable that the candidate has college teaching experience, experience in using technology in the classroom, and experience with distance learning. RESPONSIBILITIES The Art Instructor will: 1. discharge effectively and efficiently the duties and responsibilities as defined in the Master Contract; 2. teach courses within the Art Department including courses in art appreciation, applied art classes, and graphic design classes; 3. develop and maintain course curricula that appropriately reflect current knowledge in the discipline; 4. conduct the Annual High School Art Day and Show; 5. work with the division and department in the development of assessment and competencies for courses in the department and division; 6. work with the division and department in the development of competencies for courses in the department and divisions; 7. work with the division and department in the program review process; 8. work with the division and department in the student outcome assessment process; 9. work with the division and department on follow-up of graduates; 10. participate in division, department, and faculty activities; 11. prepare syllabi for all courses taught following the format prescribed by the State of Kansas and have those syllabi on file in the Vice President for Academic Affairs’ offices; 12. work with the division dean on the preparation of the class schedule each semester; 13. provide information to the Academic Affairs’ office for federal, state, and internal reports; 14. assist in the recruitment of students; 15. work with the division dean on the preparation of the budget and correctly prepare purchase requisitions; 16. assist in the development of promotional materials for the art program and the humanities and social sciences division; 17. ensure coordination, cooperation, and communication with other art instructors; 18. incorporate technology into the curriculum and keep abreast of current technology in the field of art; 19. provide mentoring support for off-campus instructors; 20. work with other disciplines to develop interdisciplinary programs; 21. attend and participate in commencement exercises in academic attire; and 22.
