Job Title: Architectural Manager (Studio Manager / Senior Architect – Healthcare)Job DescriptionThis role offers an experienced Studio Manager / Senior Architect the opportunity to lead a small, collaborative architectural studio with a strong focus on healthcare projects across New York City. You will balance hands-on leadership, day-to-day studio management, and deep technical involvement in complex healthcare projects from concept through construction administration. This position is ideal for a seasoned architect who enjoys mentoring teams, managing multiple concurrent projects, and serving as a trusted client partner while maintaining high standards of design quality, technical rigor, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a studio of approximately 8–10 architects and designers, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and growth-oriented environment.
- Serve as the primary team leader and point of escalation for staffing, performance, and people-related matters.
- Oversee day-to-day studio operations, including workload planning, resource allocation, and coordination of project assignments.
- Monitor and approve timesheets, supporting overall studio efficiency and utilization.
- Manage multiple healthcare architecture projects from concept design through construction administration, including both new construction and renovation work.
- Oversee all project phases, ensuring that drawings and documents are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with project goals and standards.
- Review drawings and technical documentation for quality, accuracy, and compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Maintain clear visibility into project schedules, scopes, and deliverables, proactively addressing risks and resolving issues to keep projects on track.
- Act as a primary client contact, managing expectations, building trust, and maintaining strong long-term relationships.
- Coordinate closely with internal teams, consultants, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and successful project delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and project production oversight, offering guidance on complex design and detailing challenges.
- Leverage advanced Revit expertise to guide teams in model development, documentation standards, and efficient workflows.
- Ensure all healthcare projects comply with relevant healthcare regulations, codes, and Department of Health requirements.
- Review and oversee technical documentation throughout all phases, from schematic design through construction administration.
- Balance studio-wide oversight with direct project responsibilities, making confident decisions that support both team and project success.
Essential Skills- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in architecture.
- Extensive background in healthcare architecture, including hospitals, surgical centers, and Department of Health–regulated projects.
- Proven experience managing teams of architects and designers and leading multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle from concept through construction administration (CA).
- Expert-level proficiency in Revit with deep technical capability in production and documentation.
- Demonstrated architectural design skills with the ability to guide and critique design work.
- Solid project management and design management experience, including scheduling, scope management, and coordination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and drafting for architectural documentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience delivering projects across New York City, particularly within Brooklyn.
- Confident decision-making skills with a strong focus on people management and team development.
- High level of organization with the ability to balance studio oversight and detailed project responsibilities.
- Client-focused, proactive, and detail-oriented approach to both design and delivery.

Work EnvironmentYou will work in a new, studio-style office with a close-knit team of approximately 8–10 people. The environment is highly collaborative, with frequent hands-on interaction across all project phases. The standard schedule is on-site, five days per week, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The team works closely together on complex healthcare projects for large, reputable clients, offering significant exposure to high-impact work and long-term growth opportunities. The studio culture emphasizes professionalism, open communication, and shared accountability, and includes a bonus structure around the end-of-year holiday period.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
