Job Description

We are seeking an Architect to join our dynamic design team. You will be instrumental in the design and production of base building architecture using Revit, manage project timelines, and collaborate with clients and consultants. This role predominantly focuses on industrial and data center projects. A passion for working on data centers and industrial projects is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support design teams in drafting and taking redlines.
• Manage project timelines and client/consultant relationships.
• Conduct surveys and input survey data.
• Assist with space planning and space plan inputs.
• Pick up red lines on construction document sets.
• Collaborate and contribute to the production of construction document sets.
• Understand and apply basic codes and ADA requirements.
• Assist with measurements and comprehend USF and RSF core factors.
• Support the construction administration and submittal phases.
• Assemble drawing sets and coordinate lightly with MEP consultants.
• Meet with architectural representatives and maintain architectural resources.
• Create renderings and assist with presentations and colored elevations.
• Attend interviews and represent the company if personality allows.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Revit architecture.
• Experience in architectural design and construction documentation.
• Commercial and industrial architecture experience.
• Base building experience.
• Strong client interfacing skills.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Architecture preferred.
• Basic understanding of codes and ADA.
• Experience with construction administration and project management.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Work Environment

Our firm is located in Northern Virginia and offers a flexible work schedule, allowing for 1-2 office days per week depending on performance. We are a leading firm in data center work, with a strong presence in Loudoun County. Employees are provided with a MacBook Pro and iPad, utilizing the Vectorworks platform, which allows for seamless file import/export and stable performance. The company culture is inviting, offering 28 days of PTO for sick, vacation, and holiday time. We are targeting a new office with more amenities in Reston, planned for August 2024.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reston, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $57.00/hr.
