Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Architect with 5-8 years of professional experience to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work on small to mid-sized projects, ranging from K-12, civic, to mixed-use developments. The role involves taking projects from conception through completion, ensuring that all design, documentation, and delivery meet the highest standards. Projects will include both new constructions and renovations. This position requires strong professional drive, passion, and self-direction, with the ability to engage and lead effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, clients, and consultants.
  • Lead projects from schematic design through construction administration using Revit.
  • Ensure all phases of projects are executed to the highest standards.
  • Engage in design and technical problem-solving processes.
  • Travel locally to job sites as required.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from an accredited program.
  • 5-8 years of professional experience in an architectural firm.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Procore, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong background in project leadership, design development, and technical documentation.
  • Advanced technical knowledge and exceptional design capabilities.
  • Extensive understanding of building codes, construction methods, materials, and sustainable design principles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
  • Experience in generating innovative design solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead and motivate teams.
Work Environment

The work environment is located in Darien, IL & Chicago, IL, featuring large, spacious offices with ample parking and a large kitchen/dining area. Employees enjoy a flex schedule, working four days in the office and one day remotely on Fridays. The workweek includes 9-hour days from Monday to Thursday and a half-day on Friday. The office boasts an open floor plan with a cubicle layout and lots of natural light. The building is LEED Platinum certified, offering hybrid vehicle parking close to the entrance. The dress code is business professional from Monday to Thursday and slightly less formal on Fridays. The firm is a full-service, integrated architecture, interiors, MEP, structural, civil, and construction firm focusing on mid-to-large scale educational, municipal, and infrastructure projects.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/hr.
