Responsibilities
Job Purpose:The Application Engineer position reports directly to the Business Development Manager. The Technical Ceramics Applications Engineer is a strategic member of the division’s commercial team, providing applications and design expertise to support account management and new business development. This individual is responsible for interfacing with customers to develop new applications and enhancing value propositions of existing products. Through regular customer interaction, the Applications Engineer will drive growth in NBDP and NPI commercialization.

This individual is responsible for interfacing with customers to develop new applications and enhancing value propositions of existing products. Through regular customer interaction, the Applications Engineer will drive growth in NBDP and NPI commercialization. Essential Functions - Identify attractive NBDP opportunities to meet Technical Ceramics’ growth objectives. - Provide applications development support to Technical Ceramics’ multi-site, cross regional technology families. - Develop account strategy in the area of applications and engineering support to drive high level of customer intimacy with customer’s technical teams. - Work with Procurement Department and suppliers to gather most cost effective and competitive component solutions for product cost modeling - Develop new product proposals and present to customers in formal sales presentations. - Work closely with site product development engineers to design high value technical differentiated solutions. - Analyse customer’s technology needs and drivers and propose projects for Morgan’s technology roadmap, NPI and CoE. - Manage customer relationships through all levels of our customer’s organization. - Closely working with the Project Managers to benchmark competitor products in the areas of functionality, application support and technical differentiation. - Share knowledge and educate the organization on customer applications and product offering. - Provide product and applications training to customer engineering staff to promote Morgan technical differentiation and capabilities. - Act as key account manager where customer’s focus and decision making are dependent on technical solutions and differentiation to win business. - Utilize Morgan CRM to manage all sales and marketing data including customer visit reports, quotes, NBDP, SoW, competitor information and any other relevant information. - Any additional duties required at the discretion of line manager. - Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations and with Morgan New Bedford, MA EHS Guidelines. Guidelines include but not limited to participation in required EHS training and use of proper PPE. Employees are responsible for reporting hazardous conditions and job-related injuries or illnesses to their supervisor. Key performance metrics and objectives - Meet or exceed budgeted revenue for assigned market - 10% NBDP growth YoY expected - Quote turnaround time measured and tracked for efficiency - Routine population of the CRM recording customer interaction and visits as required
