The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated and highly responsible individual for the position ofApplication Technician - Summer Seasonal. The Application Technician is responsible for applying fertilizer and pesticide treatments to the turf at the Breckenridge Golf Club and keeping accurate records of all applications. The Application Technician also mows turf in order to maintain golf course features such as: greens, aprons, fairways, tees, roughs, practice areas, and non-play areas. Various types of equipment are used to accomplish this mowing. The Application Technician is responsible for proper equipment operation; cleaning equipment; and reporting equipment issues.
Individuals in this position also provide leadership to Greens Keepers who are assigned to help with fertilizer applications. The Application Technician performs other duties such as: course set-up, aeration, topdressing, and vertical mowing, irrigation installation, drainage installation and repair, trimming bushes, hand watering, picking up debris, repairing ball marks, etc. The Application Technician is responsible for working within a team environment and communicating in a positive and professional manner with guests, co-workers, and golf course operations personnel and attending required work shifts, including necessary trainings.For additional information regarding this position including important roles, essential job functions & duties, knowledge, skills and abilities required, materials and equipment used, working environment, and physical activity required, please view the fullposition description.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be willing and able to work from mid May until mid October.
  • Two (2) or more seasons golf course maintenance/professional turf maintenance experience required.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
  • A valid Colorado drivers license and a Motor Vehicle Record deemed appropriate are required prior to driving Town vehicles.
  • Community CPR, First Aid, and AED training required within 60 days of hire.
  • Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.
  • Colorado Pesticide Applicators license preferred.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Basic understanding of fungicides, plant growth regulators, herbicides, algaecides preferred.
  • Basic understanding of fertilizer analysis (major nutrients) preferred.
  • Previous Application Technician experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
Hiring Pay Range: $21.50 - $22.75 per hour.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Primary shifts for this position vary. However, five (5) days per week for up to 40 hours would be typical for this position. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability, and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
