Application Engineer

Prosonix is seeking a motivated and disciplined Application Engineer to join our technical sales and support team. This role combines engineering, customer interaction, and project execution.

Success in this position requires not only strong technical ability, but also consistent follow-through, proactive communication, and ownership of work from start to finish. The ideal candidate is organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a customer-facing environment.

• Provide technical support to the sales team during customer inquiries, presentations, and proposal development
• Evaluate customer applications and recommend appropriate solutions
• Assist customers with product integration, troubleshooting, and system optimization
• Support installation, commissioning, and start-up activities (remote and on-site)
• Prepare and review technical documents, including specifications, drawings, and product selection tools
• Develop and maintain engineering tools and spreadsheets (Excel-based)
• Create and modify drawings using AutoCAD
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, project status, and technical issues
• Communicate regularly with internal teams and customers to ensure alignment on project status and expectations
• Travel as needed to support customer projects and site visits

• Projects and tasks are completed on time, or risks are clearly communicated in advance
• Communication is proactive, clear, and consistent
• Work is well-organized and progress is visible to the team
• Customer and sales inquiries are handled with urgency and follow-through
• Technical solutions are accurate, practical, and well-documented

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in an engineering or technical support role (application or sales support preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD
• Experience with VBA or automation tools is a plus

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with consistent follow-through
• Strong, proactive communication skills, including regular status updates and early identification of risks
• Ability to take ownership of work from initial request through completion
• Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
• Comfortable working independently while maintaining alignment with the broader team
