  • Salary range: [$293,292- $496,530]. The pay rate offered is determined within the pay range and is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to FTE, prior experience, certifications, degrees, subspecialties, projected volumes, and quality performance measures


The successful candidate for the position will have training and experience in a university or large health system setting that includes residency and fellowship programs. In particular, subspecialty training and expertise in cytology, gynecologic, gastrointestinal and/or thoracic pathology is sought.


The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine includes 30 full-time physicians and doctoral scientists, 18 of whom are in the Anatomic Pathology Division. The Anatomic Pathology division signs out more than 100,000 surgical cases and biopsies annually. The Laboratories are centralized at Evanston Hospital and serve the entire NorthShore system which includes 4 hospitals (900 beds) and nearly 2000 physicians. The Department sponsors a longstanding and successful ACGME-accredited AP/CP pathology residency program, fellowships in AP, medical microbiology and Molecular Genetic Pathology (with University of Chicago), and Medical technology school on site. The Anatomic Pathology Division is well-integrated with Clinical and Molecular Pathology, with a range of services including next generation sequencing and FISH performed on site.


Qualifications:

Minimum Education Level

  • Graduate of an accredited and recognized medical school required.


Minimum Licensure Requirements

  • Eligible for medical licensing in the State of Illinois.


Minimum Certification Requirements

  • Certification by the American Board of Pathology is required


Minimum Work Experience

  • Subspecialty fellowship training in cytology, gynecologic, gastrointestinal and/or thoracic pathology
