The Lab Chemist is responsible for quality control of toll manufactured materials, testing, data management, sample oversight and guidance in a laboratory/office setting, resulting in making Lincoln MFG-USA Always a better solution.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *

Position/Department

  • Responsible for ensuring quality control measures are in place, understood and followed at all times.
  • Responsible for running HPLC and FTIR equipment to verify incoming raw materials and finished products.
  • Responsible for conducting all tests related to the release of finished products.Including but not limited to refractive index, specific gravity, etc.
  • Responsible for approving, generating and maintaining Certificates of Analysis.
  • Data management - responsible for acquiring, validating, and maintaining data for the lab.
  • Set up and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control.
  • Ensure safety procedures and housekeeping are maintained to protect yourself, co-workers, and the environment.
  • Perform, interpret, and record quality control data. Record corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on instrumentation as needed.
  • Maintain and apply a working knowledge of GMP/GLP practices and procedures related to employee training and safety.
  • Responsible for updating QC documentation, recording analysis and calibration results.
  • General lab duties including clean-up, maintenance of equipment, track and order chemicals and disposables used in the lab.
  • Data processing and documentation using common software tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, etc.


Leadership/ Teamwork

  • Provide documentation and supporting information cross-departmentally upon request
  • Communicate with other Lab Technicians throughout the organization to stay up to date on processes, protocols and trends

Continuous Improvement/Problem Solving

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable facility requirements, certifications and designations
  • Contribute to and support continuous improvement of our processes and systems
  • Seek opportunities to share best practices with the team, support staff and other divisions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, other sciences, or equivalent of education and experience (required)


Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of previous experience in a laboratory setting (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working under a Quality Management System such as ISO 9001.
  • Experience running and troubleshooting FTIR and HPLC equipment.


Certifications

  • Any industry related certification (i.e., Laboratory Technician, Sales Techniques, Project Management, Regulatory, Quality Management, etc.) (preferred/encouraged)
