Commercial Banking provides financial solutions to businesses with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. Our business lines are Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Middle Market Banking, and Treasury Management & Payment Solutions.

This senior level position will be a key analytics and reporting partner for the Commercial Banking Climate and the Commercial Banking Conduct and Reputational Risk groups guiding and developing in-depth analysis for these teams.  In addition, this role will contribute to senior level presentations and will need to be comfortable aggregating and leveraging data from multiple sources, including internal and external sources. 

The successful candidate will have strong relationship building and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate on projects. They will have an analytic curiosity, a strong desire to dig deeper, and the ability to solve complex problems quickly. A keen ability to identify and deliver succinct, relevant and impactful insights is imperative.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Developing analyses in response to business needs in a dynamic, fast-paced, and complex environment
  • Developing net-new metrics to bring focus to specific focus areas 
  • Pro-active identification of additional analyses, metrics, and indicators to drive business focus
  • Presentation of analyses to mid to senior level business leaders in impactful and meaningful ways
  • Development of on-going reporting via Tableau or other similar presentation layers 
  • Apply knowledge of business, customers, and/or products/services/portfolios to synthesize data to 'form a story' and align information to contrast/compare to industry perspective
  • Aggregate and integrate data and information across other LOB’s 
  • Provide actionable insights and make strategic recommendations to the line of business based on thought-provoking and sound analytics, both proactively and in response to business partners’ requests

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.



Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling demonstrated through work or military experience; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ RDBMS experience (Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2)
  • 3+ years’ RDBMS experience (Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2)
  • Experience within Commercial Banking or Corporate Investment Banking lines of business, risk management, and/or credit products
  • Strong understanding of how to develop and deliver dashboards and reporting to tell a story and convey complex information in a straightforward manner
  • Creativity to ideate new ways to represent data in graphs/tables/pictures to deliver the best insights
  • Analytical and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, execute and deliver projects on time
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • Proven experience developing net-new metrics with appropriate bounds for controls
  • Diversity champion enabling team collaboration. Leads and influences diverse views to foster problem solving, and delivery of extraordinary work that promotes team success
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with a wide variety of partners both technical and non-technical
