Commercial Banking provides financial solutions to businesses with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. Our business lines are Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Middle Market Banking, and Treasury Management & Payment Solutions.

  • A market-leading provider of working capital, investment capital, trust services, and sales financing solutions that help customers optimize liquidity and grow their business through their lifecycle

Treasury Management & Payment Solutions

  • Provides cash management services and digital channel capabilities for customers of Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking
  • Also serves some Consumer and Small Business Banking and Wealth and Investment Management customers, and Auto Dealer Finance partner relationships in Consumer Lending

The Treasury Management & Payment Solutions digital fraud landscape is rapidly emerging with fraudsters introducing increasingly complex and sophisticated tactics to steal online credentials and transfer money undetected. This requires that we maintain best-in-class authentication, prevention and detection capabilities/tools that will help to protect the brand and assets of Wells Fargo and its customers. We are searching for a talented analytics consultant to develop and implement fraud detection strategies. Major activities include enhancing detection capabilities using advanced analytics, monitoring and evaluating existing capabilities through synthesis and reporting, and establishing and maintaining an analytical and governance framework that enables the ongoing evaluation of fraud prevention controls and decision making.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Using multiple databases, proactively identify fraud trends and patterns by performing complex analyses involving data mining
  • Developing & automating analyses using data visualization techniques and/or advanced Business Intelligence platforms integrated within the analytics tools
  • Get involved in technology release & perform evaluations of impact 
  • Translate complex or ambiguous business problem statements into analysis and reporting requirements
  • Communicate with and influence business management to achieve fraud prevention initiative objectives
  • Synthesize key performance metrics and key findings tailored for various audiences
  • Recommend quality metrics and ensures quality metrics are documented and tracked
  • Have a working knowledge of the data available or needed by the wider business for more complex or comparative analysis and the ability to work with a variety of different data sources
  • Identify and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
  • Respond to adhoc reporting and data requests as needed

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.



Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling demonstrated through work or military experience; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling


Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills


Other Desired Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience using SQL within a variety of database sources such as SAS, Oracle, Teradata, etc.
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience with SAS
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of data mining with SQL and SAS
  • Financial Crimes background (Fraud/AML) & expertise working with payment data (wires, ACH etc.)
  • Financial Services industry experience
  • Experience and or knowledge of Actimize system
  • Experience working with Technology releases
  • Ability to communicate effectively & summarize findings clearly and concisely


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
