Commercial Banking provides financial solutions to businesses with annual sales generally in excess of $5 million. Our business lines are Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Middle Market Banking, and Treasury Management & Payment Solutions.

As part of the Commercial Banking (CB) Operations Support Services team, the Analytic Consultant 3 will be responsible for providing metrics and reporting (both routine and ad-hoc) across multiple departments within CB Operations. Working with partners in various lines of business, this person will help define business requirements; translate business needs into complex analysis designs; and make recommendations for improvements through automation and simplification.  This position will be responsible for data analytics, including:  trend analysis, headcount reporting, executive summary reporting, and management reporting.  The candidate will also help to lead the implementation of Activity Based Costing across all Operations teams.

Specific duties include:

  • Mine data from multiple sources that highlight performance of the organization
  • Design stable, automated solutions through the use of modern tools and data management methodology
  • Develop, manage, and maintain reporting (Excel / PowerPoint) that tracks volume and trends
  • Provide new insights by creating visualizations showing complex data relationships and key assumptions
  • Facilitate regular meetings with business partners to gather commentary and feedback to support observations and trends
  • Consolidate senior level reporting and create a process for review and distribution
  • Engage with Operations to ensure research and analysis adds value to the organization
  • Propose new ideas to improve and streamline the reporting process

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling demonstrated through work or military experience; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling

  • Knowledge and understanding of SQL or SAS
  • Knowledge and understanding of BI platform and tools such as: SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, and TSQL
  • Tableau experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Python
