What's in it for you:
The Credit Analyst is part of the Corporate Credit Center of Excellence (COE) and is responsible for managing customer credit risk evaluation and escalation for the accounts receivable portfolio. This position is part of the regional Credit Center of Excellence organization that has accountability for all Trane Technologies business units within North America. The preferred candidate will have experience in customer credit risk assessment along with mitigation tools. Working with other Credit Risk colleagues within the region, the candidate should be open to the adoption of new processes and procedures that contribute to best practices that address risk mitigation for the portfolio. This individual is expected to be a change agent, self-starter and driven for results. The individual must be able to work effectively with sales and business unit leadership as well as possess comfort negotiating with our customers’ leaders (CEO, CFO etc.).

What you will do:

  • Key person to evaluate larger and more complex customer credit reviews for North America.

  • Responsible for primary review, recommendation, and approval of customer credit lines.

  • Responsible for managing the customer credit line annual review process for a portfolio of accounts, to ensure the region’s risk is fully vetted and mitigated while ensuring compliance with corporate credit policies.

  • Act as the point person to answer audit requests for information for your area of responsibility.

  • Responsible for managing new customer account requests to establish appropriate credit limits and assessing the use of appropriate risk mitigation tools/credit enhancements to achieve the appropriate level of risk.

  • Should have experience with various types of collateral (UCC-1, Security Agreements, Personal & Corporate Guarantees, Stand-by Letter of Credit) -- Bond & Lien experience is a plus.

  • Manage within a given Level of Authority (LOA) and escalate when appropriate.

  • Participate in credit risk training when necessary.

  • Represent the credit center of excellence in support of business initiatives as a subject matter expert with regard to systems, forms, processes, and procedures used in the granting and maintenance of credit.

  • Visit customers & sales staff periodically to build effective business partnerships.

What you will bring:

  • Must have BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, or similar field.

  • Must have 5+ years of credit risk experience. This experience must include extensive customer contact, financial statement analysis (including the spreading of financial statements) and risk mitigation using various types of collateral. Additionally, candidate must be able to work with Sales organization to drive profitable revenue growth, including the structuring of accounts with difficult credit profiles.

  • Must have strong communication skills proving a proven ability to lead through influence.

  • Effective personal and interpersonal skills. Must be at ease interacting with sales & business unit leadership to effectively communicate credit’s position when debating the merits of a transaction.

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft products as well as an aptitude for use of enterprise systems such as Oracle.
