Job Title: Production Technician

Job Description

As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for fabricating complex assemblies made of sheet metal, machined parts, and composite components. You will also participate in aircraft sheet metal repair and structural maintenance, modification, and component installation. Your role includes disassembling, repairing, and fabricating complex structural items and mechanical assemblies, as well as planning, laying out, fabricating, and installing structural mechanical modifications or assemblies. Your tasks will involve working with pressurized and non-pressurized structures, external structures, primary load-path structures, transparencies, operable control mechanisms, wire harnesses, and electrical components. Additionally, you will assist and mentor team members in understanding engineering drawings and work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in calibration checks as required.
  • Train and lead a team of 10-15 people.
  • Fabricate complex assemblies using sheet metal, machined parts, and composite components.
  • Conduct aircraft sheet metal repair, structural maintenance, modification, and component installation.
  • Disassemble, repair, and fabricate complex structural and mechanical assemblies.
  • Plan, lay-out, fabricate, and install structural mechanical modifications or assemblies.
  • Perform fabrication, maintenance, modification, and repair on various structures and mechanisms.
  • Assist and mentor team members in understanding engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Possess, master, and maintain personal tools required for accurate and efficient work execution.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in sheet metal work and fabrication.
  • Experience with C-130 or similar airframes.
  • Knowledge of FAR 25 and MIL-STD-516 standards.
  • Ability to perform quality inspections.
  • Expertise in drawing interpretation and precision drilling within .030 inches.
  • Installation of solid fasteners, rivet layout, edge distance, and spacing.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in workflow management.
  • 5+ years of sheet metal experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have own tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • FAA or A&P Certified Airframe License is a plus but not required.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in defense or commercial aircraft is beneficial.
  • ITAR facility compliance requires US citizenship.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $47.00/hr.
