ABOUT VERATO

As digital transformation and AI progress at lightning speed, organizations find themselves data-rich and insights-poor. Digital transformation’s promise to drive better experiences and business performance is falling short.Data is often trapped in silos across disconnected systems of record, such as ERPs and EHRs, systems of engagement, such as CRMs, and systems of insight, such as cloud data platforms. These systems cannot integrate seamlessly without a single source of truth for identity, making it impossible to share and consume complete and trusted 360-degree views of people, organizations, and networks.

Verato, the identity intelligence experts, powers exceptional experiences everywhere by solving the problem that drives everything else — knowing who is who. The Verato MDM Cloudä, the next generation of MDM, delivers unprecedented identity intelligence by uniquely combining extraordinary identity resolution and enrichment with identity verification, AI-powered data governance, and advanced insights. Verato re-imagines MDM to be purpose-built and nimble to drive a complete and trusted 360-degree view of people, organizations, and networks across complex ecosystems with unmatched speed to value, enterprise-grade performance, and customer success. More than 75% of the US population flows through Verato, powering a single source of truth for identity across the critical industries of healthcare, life sciences, financial services, public sector, and beyond. ABOUT THE POSITION

Verato is seeking an AI Enablement Engineer to join its IT Operations team. This role is responsible for operationalizing AI across the enterprise — integrating AI agents, enabling secure data access, and ensuring compliance with Verato's security and privacy standards. The AI Enablement Engineer bridges AI Product, AI Engineering, and IT Operations, turning AI capabilities into governed, production-ready systems that meet HITRUST, HIPAA, and SOC 2 requirements.

This is not a pure AI or ML role. Verato is looking for a security-minded integration engineer who is curious about AI and ready to grow into this space.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Security First Expectations:

This role operates in a regulated healthcare environment handling PHI. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a security-first mindset, ensuring that all AI integrations:

• Do not expose or improperly process PHI or PII

• Enforce least privilege access controls at all layers

• Maintain encryption and secure transmission standards

• Align with Verato's Data Protection Policy and AI Acceptable Use Policy

Follow Verato's documented security policies and procedures at all times

Responsibilities:

1. AI Enablement & Agent Deployment

• Deploy and operationalize AI agents and automation workflows

• Integrate AI capabilities into internal platforms, APIs, and data systems

• Support AI Product teams in bringing use cases into production environments

• Build and maintain orchestration pipelines for AI-driven workflows

2. Integration & Platform Engineering

• Design and manage integrations across cloud platforms (AWS / GCP), data platforms (Snowflake, MongoDB), and identity systems (Okta, IAM)

• Ensure all integrations align with Verato's network segmentation, secure gateway, and access enforcement requirements

3. Security, Privacy & AI Governance

• Enforce secure AI usage aligned with Verato's Data Protection & Privacy Policy and AI Acceptable Use Policy (NIST AI RMF)

• Prevent unauthorized handling of sensitive data (PII / PHI)

• Implement encryption in transit and at rest, and secure API authentication (mTLS, OAuth)

4. Observability & Operations

• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for AI agents and integrations

• Develop agents capable of: tool use, memory, planning, reasoning, retrieval augmentation (RAG)

• Track agent activity, data access patterns, system performance, and anomalies

• Support incident response for AI-related issues per Verato's Incident Management Policy

5. Governance & Change Management

• Ensure all AI deployments follow CAB change management and configuration management standards

• Document integrations, data flows, and system dependencies for audit readiness

• Maintain compliance posture across HITRUST, SOC 2, and HIPAA control requirements

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • 1 –3 years in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or systems integration
  • API integration (REST, webhooks, service-to-service auth)
  • Cloud infrastructure: AWS and/or GCP
  • Scripting in Python or bash, with a focus for cloud automation
  • Identity and access systems: OAuth, IAM, RBAC, least privilege
  • Security mindset: encryption, secure logging, data minimization
  • Working knowledge of SOC 2, HITRUST, or HIPAA environments

Other Desired Skills:

  • Experience with AI/LLM tools (OpenAI APIs, LangChain, agent frameworks)
  • Familiarity with NIST AI Risk Management Framework
  • Observability tools: Datadog, CloudWatch, or equivalent
  • Experience in healthcare or regulated environments
  • Prior work deploying automation or AI-driven workflows
  • Familiarity with data platforms: Snowflake, MongoDB
  • Working knowledge of SOC 2, HITRUST, or HIPAA environments preferred
  • Exposure to AI or LLM tools strongly preferred — deep AI expertise not required

Key Success Metrics:

Time to productionize AI agents = Defined SLA per deployment

Compliance adherence = Zero audit findings tied to AI integrations

System reliability = Uptime per SLA; monitored monthly

Secure data handling = Zero policy violations (PHI/PII)

Why Verato:

• Work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, security, and AI enablement

• Operate within a HITRUST-certified, US-based healthcare SaaS environment with meaningful ownership

• Staff are empowered with the best tools and development opportunities — including big data, cloud computing, and AI
