The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is dedicated to investigating criminal activity across the state of Louisiana. Comprised of highly skilled Detectives and Narcotics Investigators, CID operates within three regional jurisdictions to effectively address and combat a wide range of criminal offenses. This division plays a critical role in protecting public safety by conducting thorough investigations, supporting prosecutions, and collaborating with local, state, and federal partners. CID is comprised of both Detectives and Narcotics investigators and operates in three (3) Regions throughout the state.

Region 1--Baton Rouge

Region 2--Breaux Bridge

Region 3--Alexandria

As an Administrative Program Specialist A, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of CID Region 1 by serving as the primary liaison between the region and the Office of Management and Finance. In this role, you will oversee select budgets, coordinate budget requests, and ensure accurate tracking and reporting of financial activities. Your work will help drive informed decision-making, maintain fiscal accountability, and support the efficient allocation of resources across the region.

Three years of experience in administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:
As an Administrative Program Specialist A, you will play a key role in supporting program operations by coordinating administrative processes, analyzing program data, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. In this role, you will:
  • Serve as the primary financial and budgetary liaison between CID Region 1 and the Office of Management and Finance, managing assigned budgets and requests
  • Process procurements using LaCarte and LaGOV systems, including monthly reconciliation of purchasing card statements
  • Assist with budget planning and forecasting to support operational goals while ensuring fiscal compliance
  • Coordinate and oversee all hiring processes, providing guidance to supervisors and tracking progress through completion
  • Prepare and submit position vacancy requests, lateral reassignments, and draft/update position descriptions
  • Manage WAE renewals and ensure timely submission of required documentation
  • Act as a central point of contact for incoming calls, inquiries, and complaints, directing matters appropriately
  • Maintain executive schedules, coordinate meetings, and arrange travel for leadership as needed
  • Prepare, review, and submit routine correspondence, personnel actions, contracts, grants, and MOUs while ensuring timely renewals and proper documentation
  • Maintain organized administrative and confidential personnel records, ensuring secure handling of sensitive information

Work Schedule:Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday—Friday
Location: This vacancy is located in the Criminal Investigation Divisionin the Office of State Police located in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
