The Adjunct Instructor for Essential Systems Technology is a part-time, non-benefited position responsible for delivering high-quality, hands-on training to students enrolled in nine-week bootcamps designed to prepare them for roles as Essential Systems Technicians. This program, developed in partnership with Microsoft, aims to equip students with the technical expertise and practical experience required to succeed in high-demand roles within data centers and other critical infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate will combine deep industry knowledge with a passion for teaching and mentoring. They will lead instruction in key areas such as electrical systems, HVAC, and mechanical operations, while fostering a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment. This role requires an innovative approach to curriculum delivery, emphasizing real-world applications and problem-solving skills that align with evolving industry demands.
Compensation:$33.39 per hour.

Essential Functions:– this position is Non-Exempt, i.e., iseligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
- The ability to comply with highly inflexible deadlines is required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position; there will be multiple occurrences of sudden, urgent task completion required
- While performing the essential functions of this position a variable work schedule may be required including long workdays, evenings, and weekends as needed
- There may be occurrences of interacting with employees and/or students, past employees and/or students, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations
- While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
- There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
- An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in critical systems operations, data centers, or related industries.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical systems, HVAC, mechanical systems, or critical environment safety protocols.
- Experience in the use of safety regulations and standards relevant to critical environments, such as OSHA or NFPA standards.
- Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and resolving technical issues in mechanical systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Journeyman in HVAC, Electrical or related trade.
- Experience in adapting instructional methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and varying skill levels.
- Experience with or willingness to learn instructional technologies, such as Learning Management Systems.
- Teaching or training experience in a technical field.
- Familiarity with modern instructional technologies and methodologies.
- Experience with project-based or experiential learning methods.
