Memorial Rehabilitation Institute provides highly specialized care ranging from complex multiple trauma, stroke and brain injury to physical and speech therapy. Inpatient care is offered at Memorial Regional Hospital South, with outpatient care available in five different locations. We also have a home health team and resources for long-term care at Memorial Manor, while also offering therapy for pediatric developmental diagnosis through Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

Responsibilities:


  • Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
  • Plans or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
  • Supervises activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel.
  • Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to issues identified, required frequency of treatments, and involves the patient and family.
  • Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress. Provides information regarding appropriate selection and use of adaptive equipment and support resources.

Education and Certification Requirements:


Accredited Program: Physical Therapy (Required)BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), Physical Therapist License (PT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)


Additional Job Information:


Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.


Required Work Experience: No prior work experience required. Acute Care experience strongly preferred. If you are a New Grad - you must have completed a clinical rotation in an acute care setting.
