Audits, processes, and approves contract travel, employee reimbursements, and other business-related expenses using LaGov ERP and SharePoint while ensuring compliance with State and LDH policies, procedures, and PPM49 guidelines.
Reviews and validates travel transactions for accuracy, guides LDH staff and external customers, and ensures timely and compliant processing of all travel-related requests.
Identifies discrepancies and prepares or processes journal vouchers to correct expenditure coding for travel, CBA accounts, and P-Card transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Serves as lead accountant in training and mentors staff on travel policies, contractor invoices, reimbursement processes, and financial systems; analyzes reports and conducts research to resolve audit exceptions and findings.
Maintains detailed financial records and reports, monitors payment activity, including issued, canceled, or voided transactions, and ensures documentation supports audit readiness.
Acts as secondary Program Administrator for the CBA Travel Card Program by managing account activity, monitoring compliance, conducting monthly audits, completing required certifications, and coordinating with stakeholders to address exceptions.
Evaluates processes and internal controls, recommends improvements to LDH management, drafts and maintains standard operating procedures, and collaborates with state agencies and auditors on financial operations and compliance matters.
