TheAccountant 1/2/3/4 will be working with a unique mix of Federal Funds, Statutory Dedicated Funds, General Funds Fees and Self-generated funds, match eligible and match non-eligible expenditures

The Office of Management and Finance (OMF) oversees the agency’s fiscal operations, budgeting, procurement and contracts, human resources, and other key administrative functions. We provide the internal support and oversight needed to ensure efficient, accountable, and transparent agency operations. OMF does not deliver direct services to the public.
Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR

A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics; OR

An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR

Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Details:
  • Monitors and manages program financial data using state systems; analyzes revenues and expenditures, ensures proper coding, and makes corrections as needed. Prepares financial reports, forecasts funding needs, and collaborates with program staff on financial status.
  • Prepares biweekly or as-needed revenue requests for CMIA compliance and submits to the Revenue Section. Produces quarterly and annual reports and processes required submissions through G5, RSA, and PMS.
  • Ensures compliance with GASB and other standards; works with auditors, OSRAP, and other agencies to resolve issues and maintain accurate reporting.
  • Assists in establishing reporting structures for new programs within the state accounting system in coordination with financial leadership.
  • Supports special projects including cost allocation, AFR preparation, bank reconciliations, impress checks, policy development, and other assigned duties.
