The College of Design, Art & Performance offers a wide array of classes ranging from arts electives available to the entire USF student population to highly specialized courses for majors in each of our disciplines, as well as a doctoral level program in music education. The College of Design, Art & Performance is also ambitious in its size and scope, with four separate schools, nearly a dozen different degree programs, two concert halls, three theatres, a professional museum, a student art gallery, a digital media lab, a new Music Building, and Graphicstudio—which is renowned throughout the nation and the world.

For our community, the College annually presents approximately 400 public performances, exhibitions, lectures, plays, shows, concerts, workshops and more – by our students and faculty as well as by nationally and internationally recognized artists, scholars, and performers.

The College of Design, Art and Performance Advising Office invites applications for a full-time Academic Program Specialist to support the Advising Office’s student success initiatives and enhance student engagement. This public-facing role’s responsibilities include:

  • Providing consistent in-person coverage and assisting students contacting the Advising Office; 
  • Managing students’ needs including appointment scheduling, retention lists, permit requests, and referrals to university resources; 
  • Supervising Federal Work Study staff and their schedules;
  • Supporting college recruitment and admissions processes;
  • Communicating with students regarding academic programs, career resources, experiential learning opportunities, and calendar dates; 
  • Developing and updating print and on-line degree/academic plan program materials; 
  • Maintaining content for the CDAP Advising website;
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing student recruitment, orientation, and career-focused events with educational and industry partners;
  • Other administrative and advising support duties as assigned.
