Job Title: A&P Mechanic

Job Description

This role is based at a repair station that supports small corporate and general aviation aircraft. You will perform inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance on a variety of airframes and powerplants, with a strong focus on electrical and engine-driven components. You will work in accordance with maintenance manuals, regulatory requirements, and safety procedures while supporting day-to-day operations in the hangar as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft systems in accordance with maintenance manual criteria and maintenance cycles to detect wear, defects, and other issues.
  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance tasks on corporate, turboprop, and general aviation aircraft in compliance with all applicable regulations and safety procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in aircraft systems and components, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems and engine-driven components.
  • Carry out maintenance and repair work on aircraft such as Piper, Cessna, Beechcraft, Mooney, King Air, Citation, CJ, TBM, and Pratt & Whitney PT6-powered aircraft.
  • Follow all FAA regulations and documentation standards, accurately recording all maintenance, inspections, repairs, and parts used.
  • Use aircraft maintenance manuals, technical data, and service bulletins to guide inspection, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
  • Collaborate with the lead technician and other team members to prioritize and complete assigned tasks efficiently.

Essential Skills

  • Active Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in corporate, turboprop, or general aviation aircraft maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with aircraft maintenance on platforms such as Piper, Cessna, Beechcraft, Mooney, King Air, Citation, CJ, and TBM.
  • Experience working with Pratt & Whitney PT6 engines.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and engine-driven components on aircraft.
  • Ability to interpret and follow aircraft maintenance manuals, technical data, and regulatory guidance.
  • Capability to document all maintenance and repair work in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as collaboratively within a hangar team.
  • Experience with Textron products is highly desirable.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baton Rouge, LA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
