Job Description
The 2nd Shift Maintenance Engineer performs both proactive and reactive maintenance on high-speed manufacturing and conveyor equipment in a fast-paced bottling and blow mold operation. This role diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, executes preventive maintenance, supports production changeovers, and helps maintain a clean, safe, and compliant food-grade facility. The position requires a true multi-craft maintenance professional who can work independently, collaborate effectively with a larger maintenance team, and support operations across two adjacent facilities.

Work Environment
This role is based in a high-speed bottling plant that fills plastic bottles and cans, alongside a brand-new blow mold facility located across a large parking lot. The position is for 2nd shift, and the broader operation also runs 3rd shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. You will support maintenance activities in both the bottling and blow mold facilities and will walk between buildings in all weather conditions, including hot summers and cold winters. The environment is food grade, very clean, and well maintained, with climate-controlled production areas. In certain areas, you will wear hair and beard nets, along with other required personal protective equipment. The facilities use high-speed manufacturing and conveyor equipment, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, 480V electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, and related industrial technologies. The maintenance team is sizable, providing a collaborative environment where technicians support each other and provide coverage for vacations. Employees must provide their own tools and follow a dress code appropriate for a food-grade, safety-focused production setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
