2nd Shift CNC Machinist - Direct Placement

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated 2nd Shift CNC Machinist for a large valve manufacturer located in Costa Mesa, CA. The role involves working 9-hour days starting at either 1:30pm or 2:30pm, with overtime available on Saturdays. This position offers a flexible pay rate based on experience (typically $25-$35) and is open to entry-level candidates who are eager to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust program/offsets on CNC multi-task horizontal machining center following engineering specifications, production drawings, procedures, and verbal instructions.
• Check work in process to ensure quality and production standards are met.
• Change settings for various production runs.
• Obtain and return work supplies from the tool crib as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and equipment.
• Use hand tools as required.
• Complete accurate production/work records.
• Deburr parts as necessary to complete production work.
• Operate jib crane and bridge crane to load and unload parts.
• Utilize hitching and rigging equipment safely.

Essential Skills

• CNC experience, preferably with milling or lathe operations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficiency in inspection processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1-3 years of recent experience or training in machining, ideally with experience in setting up, operating, and adjusting CNC multi-task vertical machining centers in a production environment.
• Considerable knowledge of methods and techniques for operating CNC multi-task vertical machining centers and related hand tools and equipment.
• Understanding of safe equipment operating procedures and work practices.
• Knowledge of proper fluid levels and coolant recovery.
• Ability to operate and adjust equipment control settings.
• Ability to check machined parts for conformity with work specifications and quality standards.

This heavy manufacturing company specializes in producing valves and other water works components. With over 400 employees on site across multiple buildings, the work environment is collaborative and focused on quality and safety.

This is a Permanent position based out of Costa Mesa, CA.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $83200.00/yr.
