We are seeking a mid- to entry-levelCNC Machine Operatorto join our2nd shiftmanufacturing team in Monee, IL. This is a TEMP-TO-HIRE position!
This role involves operating CNC machines to fabricate parts. Responsibilities include loading parts into the machine, cycling the machine, and detecting malfunctions in parts. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with CNC programming and tooling, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
$22-$23 per hour DOE
2nd shift:2:30pm-1:00am Mon-Thurs

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a range of CNC machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC machining centers with precision and efficiency
- Perform all assigned machine shop operations
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures
- Regularly perform bending, milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks
- Perform inspection of machined products, and document results
- Complete and maintain paperwork for parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to produce accurate parts
- Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and materials handling equipment when necessary
- Conduct routine inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions
- Perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines to minimize downtime and ensure consistent quality
- Collaborate with quality control teams to identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain a clean, organized work area adhering to safety standards and factory protocols
- Assist with fabrication tasks including welding, tooling adjustments, or assembly line support as needed
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements for efficiency and quality
Requirements:
- Physical requirements include ability to operate machinery, lift up to 40 lbs, and stand on feet for most of the day
- Additional abilities include written and verbal communication, ability to read numbers, blueprints and measurements?
- CNC Experience (1-3 years)
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for quality control
- Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements
- Ability to work on the 2nd shift schedule reliably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferredqualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical capacity
- Experience with tooling setup, materials handling equipment like forklifts, and fabrication processes including welding
- Hands-on experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar is a plus
