This 8-week Process Technology Internship is part of the Texas Internship Initiative Grant, offered in partnership with Workforce Solutions Golden Crescent and Victoria College. Designed for students in their final semester of the Process Technology Program, this internship provides immersive, hands-on experience in a plant setting under the supervision of experienced process operators. This opportunity helps students transition from process technician student to professional by enhancing analytical and troubleshooting judgment, communication, and technical operator skills. Interns will work at least eight hours per week, depending on department needs.

To participate, students must meet Texas Internship Initiative Grant eligibility criteria. Selected interns will receive a stipend from Victoria College to support transportation, childcare, and tuition/fees.
Duties include,
but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with industrial process operation, analysis, and troubleshooting;
- Participate in monitoring process conditions (pressure, temperature, level, flow rates) and equipment operation (pumps, valves, compressors) under supervision;
- Observe and support complex plant operations alongside engineers or other professionals;
- Apply established safety procedures and quality principles;
- Shadow and assist process operators in safe and efficient production tasks;
- Other duties as assigned by the internship supervisor.
INTERN LEARNING OBJECTIVES:- Apply theoretical knowledge from the Process Technology Program to real-world operations.
- Understand the fundamentals of process equipment, flow systems, and control logic.
- Learn safety and compliance practices in an industrial setting.
- Develop basic troubleshooting and process monitoring skills.
- Build professional communication and team work experience within the industry.
- Master tasks and skills specific to this internship/Employer setting.
- Enrolled in the final semester of the Process Technology Program at Victoria College on the start date of the internship.
- Strong knowledge of process operation fundamentals and safety protocols.
- Effective communication and process applications in plant (or laboratory) settings.
- Ability to use instrumentation to monitor process conditions and operate equipment by following detailed procedures.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

The intern must be able to perform physical tasks typical of a plant environment, including sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods. This role may require lifting and handling mechanical equipment. Interns must have the dexterity to perform analysis, operating, and troubleshooting tasks.
